Simferopol

Simferopol (English pronunciation IPA: /ˌsɪmfəˈroʊpəl/) (Ukrainian: Сімферополь; Russian: Симферополь) is a city on the Crimean peninsula, the status of which is disputed between Ukraine and Russia. Simferopol is the de facto administrative centre of the Republic of Crimea, and de jure it remains the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The city is situated on the small Salhir River. It is a manufacturing, commercial, and transportation center located in a productive agricultural region. Products include canned fruit, flour, machine tools, and electric equipment.
